Classroom Support Technician (posted 9/24/12)

Join the mobile classroom support team responsible for all classroom related technology and assist faculty in setup and breakdown of said equipment.  Field basic questions about technology and function in classrooms.  Prepare and deliver classroom resources on time and in a professional manner while performing roaming maintenance and cleanup.

Duties

  • Perform a critical role as a member of the Classroom Support Team
  • Deliver, set-up, maintain, and retrieve all classroom technology in support of scheduled classes and events
  • Provide mobile classroom technical support and basic troubleshooting
  • Delegated classroom and study group room facility maintenance and repair
  • Assist full-time staff with shift specific duties and routines
  • Performing other related duties as required or assigned

Skills

  • Windows/Mac familiarity
  • Audio-Visual oriented and technology minded
  • Capable of following instructions with strong attention to detail
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure

Location

  • Jacobs Center, Office 163 (Evanston campus)
  • Allen Center, Office 154 (Evanston campus)

Hours

  • Jacobs Center - 2-3 hour assigned shifts
    • Hours of operation: 7AM-10PM M-Th, 7AM-8PM Fridays and weekends as needed
  • Allen Center - 2-3 hour assigned shifts
    • Hours of operation: 8AM-9:30PM (seven days a week)

Public Computing Technician (posted 9/24/12)

Responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining the public computing and printing infrastructure in all Kellogg public computing facilities

Duties 

  • Public Kiosk Computers and Lab Computing maintenance
    • Verify operational status
    • Resolve issues as appropriate
  • Public printing equipment troubleshooting and maintenance
    • Toner replacement
    • Paper organization and restocking
    • Paper Jam misfeed removal
  • Escalation for issues as appropriate
  • Service ticket creation and resolution 

Skills

  • Ability to identify and resolve minor equipment problems in order to avoid unnecessary escalations
  • Ability to develop and establish excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to find solutions to problems by leveraging available resources such as fellow colleagues, written documentation, and online resources 

Location

  • Jacobs Center, McManus and 555 Clarke (Evanston campus)

Hours

  • Weekday two hour shifts or Weekend three hour shifts available

Student Technical Support Consultant (posted 9/24/12) 

Responsible for providing excellent front-line technical support for all Part-time MBA students.

Duties

  • Walk-in and phone support for phone and laptop issues, both hardware and software
  • Public computing equipment troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Public printing equipment troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Support for KIS-provided services
  • IT Consultation: Provide information on current IT products, trends, and news

Skills

  • General knowledge of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.6
  • General knowledge of the Microsoft Office 2007/2010 Suite
  • Ability to develop and establish a troubleshooting methodology and apply it to a wide range of situations
  • Ability to develop and establish excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to find solutions to problems by leveraging available resources such as fellow colleagues, written documentation, and online resources

Videographer (posted 9/24/12)

Apply to be a part of a team that will receive weekly notifications of upcoming events (classroom, club events, distinguished guest speakers) and volunteer to provide video recording services as available. Great field experience for RTVF and A/V oriented individuals. Some post-production work may be available for those who qualify.
